This move causes the "intense sunlight" field condition to appear over the battlefield, which has the following effects:

The base power of Fire-type moves will be increased by 50%, and the base power of Water-type moves will be decreased by 50%.

The move Synthesis will recover 66.6% of a user's max HP (rounded down), SolarBeam will not require a turn to charge, the base accuracy of Thunder and Hurricane will be reduced to 50%, Weather Ball becomes a Fire-type move and its base power is doubled, the effects of Solid Phase immediately end, and Growth boosts a user's Attack and Special Attack by two stages each.

The abilities Chlorophyll, Dry_Skin, Flower_Gift, Forecast, Leaf_Guard and Solar_Power are activated. Harvest's chance of activation per turn is increased to 100%.

While intense sunlight is active, no Pokémon can become frozen. However, any Pokémon that are already frozen when intense sunlight starts will defrost at the normal rate.

This move's effects last for five turns, including turn of use. Since these effects are considered an "atmospheric" field condition, they will be replaced by the effects of any other "atmospheric" field-condition, while overlapping with the effects of "terrestrial" and "entity" field conditions. This move's effects last for eight turns if the user is holding a Heat Rock.
